Between 18th to 21st of May, the Municipality of Anadia will receive the PORTUGAL WINE TROPHY 2017 wine contest, an event organized by DWM - Deutsche Wein Marketing. This wine competition, together with the Berlinner Wein Trophy and the Asia Wine Trophy, is one of the largest wine competitions in the world and is sponsored by the International Organization of Vine and Wine, the International Union of Winemakers and VINOFED.
This important event attributed, in 2016, 529 medals, of which 9 Great Gold, 272 Gold and 242 Silver. Portugal was in great prominence with the wines managed to conquer 287 distinctions, of which 6 Great Gold, 142 Gold and 139 Silver.
In Anadia there will be an international jury panel (about 70), which will have the responsibility of taste and evaluate the wines during the four days of the contest. Representing the Dão Regional Wine Commission will be present in this competition two members of the Tasting Chamber, Engineers Pedro Pereira and Rodrigo Costa.
