The Demarcated Dão Region was present at SITEVI 2017, a showcase for equipment and techniques for wine-growing, olive-growing, fruit and vegetable production, which took place in Montpellier from 28th to 30th of November. By the invitation of the "Vida Económica" newspaper, the Dão Region, participated in a visit of Portuguese professionals who had the support of Promosalons Portugal and the Portuguese-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Consulate-General of Portugal in Marseille.
During the visit, there was time for Arlindo Cunha, president of CVR Dão, to take part in a roundtable discussion attended by Alexandra Ribeiro Custódio, Alderman of the Saint-Étienne Chamber, Laurent Marionnet, General Director of the Portuguese-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pedro Marinho, Portuguese General Consul in Marseilles and José Pedro Soares, president of the CVR of Bairrada.
"The main export markets for Portuguese wines are the United States, Canada, Angola and Brazil," said Arlindo Cunha. The president of CVR Dão highlighted the importance of France and the Portuguese and Portuguese-descendant community. "In the European Union, in the case of wines, Dão in particular, we export about 45% of what we certify. Dão certifies about 18 million liters. Of this wine, 60% goes to third countries and 40% goes to European Union countries "- also told to the guests of the roundtable.
Dão wines were in a tasting, along with wines from Bairrada, in the International Wine area, that was avaiable to all visitors.
